SUMMARY 60 DAY ADWG CHART FOR A MOB OF 500+ FIRST CROSS LAMBS IN A FEEDLOT SITUATION. INITIAL RATION WAS BARLEY + AIM CONVERTER SHEEP 50 PT.

The weight chart below is a great example of the Optiweigh data being able to pick up changes to animal weights almost instantaneously.

The key points on show:

  • a weight drop across the mob from April 28 to around the 30th/1st May which is typical when a new session is started, the Unit is placed with a new mob and the stock start to use the machine and build a full picture;
  • on 8/5, there was an on farm emergency as as a result this mob did’t get their rations. You can see the immediate dip;
  • All was going well until mid May where the mob was shorn (avg fleece of 1.5KG) and weight loss drops accordingly; and
  • From May 25, their ratio was changed to Wheat + Converter 50 and they start to power away again.
