Optiweigh is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals whose personal information it collects, uses, stores, or discloses in connection with the sale, support, and operation of Optiweigh Units, the Optiweigh Data Portal, and associated websites, mobile apps, and digital services (collectively, “Optiweigh Services”).


This Privacy Policy explains how Optiweigh handles personal information and ensures compliance with applicable privacy and data-protection laws in all jurisdictions in which Optiweigh operates.

  • Account and billing data: subscription details, payment information, transaction history, and tax identifiers.
  • Device and usage data: serial numbers, firmware versions, connectivity status, and diagnostic information relating to Optiweigh Units and the Data Portal.
  • Livestock Data: as defined in this Agreement, which may include geolocation or property identifiers if voluntarily supplied by the customer.
  • Website and app data: IP address, browser type, cookies, and analytics for system security, functionality, and improvement.

1.3 Purpose of Collection and Use


Optiweigh collects and uses personal information to:

  • establish, maintain, and administer customer accounts and subscriptions;
  • provide, support, and improve Optiweigh Services;
  • communicate with customers and users (including technical updates, marketing, and surveys, where permitted);
  • perform analytics, research, and product development; and
  • comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

Where Livestock Data is aggregated or anonymised, it ceases to be personal information.


1.4 Legal Bases


Optiweigh relies on one or more of the following legal bases when processing personal information:

  • performance of a contract (e.g., this Agreement);
  • compliance with legal obligations;
  • legitimate business interests (e.g., service improvement, fraud prevention); and
  • consent, where required by law.

  • Optiweigh subsidiaries, affiliates, service providers, and authorised resellers;
  • payment processors, logistics partners, and data-hosting providers; and
  • regulatory authorities or law-enforcement agencies where required by law.

Data may be transferred and stored in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or Latin America.


Optiweigh implements reasonable technical and contractual safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) to protect personal information transferred across borders.


1.6 Data Retention


Optiweigh retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above or as required by applicable law.
Aggregated Livestock Data may be retained indefinitely for research and benchmarking.


1.7 Security


Optiweigh applies appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards—including encryption, access controls, and staff training—to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.


1.8 Access, Correction, and Rights
